xpy 0.10.9 and Vispa 0.2.9
The works on the next major release stalled, but I had no intention of updating the old versions. I was notified of some bugs, and as they were easy to fix – here are the new versions. Thanks Mike!

The browser statistics from the last 4 weeks show a growing use of Firefox, the majority of visitors on this website are using the alternative to 2nd place Internet Explorer.
However, 76% of all Internet Explorer users have upgraded to IE7 or IE8. Firefox users are equally up-to-date with 86% running any 3.x version.
Altogether, more than 2/3 are using an alternative browser. It’s likely though, that vistors interested in software security (like my software) are more sensitive towards the issue and are especially fond of Firefox.
ClickFont allows easy font installation from anywhere in the system. The all new beta version supports TrueType, OpenType and PostScript fonts. You can download it from the tools page.
Lots of new features to restore deleted items and some minor bugfixes coming to the all new version. The Czech translation had to be removed temporarily, but should be back in 0.10.8/0.2.8 – most likely the last in this branch.
Many new features and many bugfixes are coming with the all new version. A bug causing language problems should’ve been fixed, making English the default language (again) on unsupported language environments. Also some bugs with batch-files has been fixed, they now create restore points properly and read the search engine given in the file. The next release will see some more features and fix another minor bug.. and everything else i don’t know about yet!
Unfortunately, some online publications point explicitly to the download of language files. Please note, that these are not required if you want to use xpy to tweak your system. These files exist, but are targeted only at our translators. Currently, only three translations are available (English, German and Czech) – all included in the standard builtdof xpy. Additional monolingual builds of xpy can be found on the SourceForge pages.
Please help stopping the rumour, that home users are in need of extra language files!
Another Friday, another release. xpy and Vispa both get updates, adding new features, fixing bugs and bringing back Czech localization. With version 0.11/0.3, there’ll be a major call for new translations. If you want to contribute, have a look at this post first!
Over the next weeks I will probably keep on releasing a new version every Friday. Some of the software’s functions will be rewritten entirely in the next months, hopefully resulting in xpy 0.11/Vispa 0.3 later this summer.
For now you can download xpy 0.10.2 and Vispa 0.2.2.1, special builds of xpy are also available on SourceForge.
The upcoming 0.11 branch will likely be the last alpha version of xpy, followed by 1.0 beta later this year.
Your antivirus software might report xpy as Spyware or a Trojan. xpy is written and compiled using NSIS, false positives are unfortunately quite common among NSIS compiled programs. The NSIS development team is aware of this situation and constantly works with software companies to solve such issues.
For more details on this issue, please refer to the NSIS forums.
If you have stumbled across this problem, please update your virus signatures first. If the problem persists, you can help by reporting a false positive to the manufacturer of your antivirus software.
Update Hopefully, these issues are a thing of the past – read this for more info!
After a long time, there’s a new major release of xpy available. The auto-detection mode has been replaced, new features were added and of course some bugs fixed. Have a look at the changelog for a full list of changes.
For Windows Vista users there’s a new version of Vispa available. Due to a source-code merger, both programs now share the same base – though some features are might only be available in one of the two.
Due to the many changes, there are not many translations available at the moment (English and German). You are more than welcome to help complete existing languages or contribute new ones. All the details can be found here.
